About the event
The “TBG Community” mini conference provides insights to the strategic and multiannual EU project “The Big Green”. The project comprises a wealth of action targeted to ecological cultural sectors and highlights related options for action and interaction by the arts, culture and education. The European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024 is one of the project partners. Lessons learned from the TBG activities which have taken place so far in the Salzkammergut will be presented for the first time to a wider audience. The event also provides insights to activities of the project leader and other European partners as well as outlooks to upcoming project events.
Background: The EU project “The Big Green (TBG)” aims to make a significant contribution to the green transformation in and with the cultural sector. The European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 is a project partner and supports local ecological cultural initiatives. Various publications are also being prepared for the “The Big Green (TBG)” project, in which the activities in the Salzkammergut are documented and disseminated.
On the basis of TBG workshops with local initiatives, thematic cultural priorities with regard to (bio)diversity, water and sustainable tourism were developed in 2023–24. They serve as a starting point for exchange with international project owners who already have experience in these subject areas.
